15 days after, What has changed so far?

It's half way through the first month of the year! A lot of people wrote down lists of Resolutions for 2014 Like finally getting into shape, going to the gym regularly, there are those who wanted to break a habit like smoking, Those who want to start a habit like waking up early for work, or those who wanted to save up. I wonder where they are at it now? :-)

I have set some goals for myself but I don't particularly have a list. I have done the list thing many New Years before and each year the list looks pretty much the same as the previous one... So I decided to just let everything flow and just see how it goes. For this year I want a lot of things to change. A change of mindset from being ok with whatever to striving to be better. I don't want to be satisfied by just feeling and being ok.. I want to be good, feel good and look good. (",)

So what has happened so far? :-)

1. New Year, New Look! (",)

The last time I've been in the salon to get my hair done was last March 2012, that was when I had my hair permed and it has been a while.. my hair has gone too long and dry and although my curl is still in-tacked, it doesn't look too healthy anymore.. So it's time for a haircut!

I was really nervous to go to the salon so I went with my friend who also had a do over of his old hairstyle which I think looks better on him. But anyway, I brought along some photos to show the hairstylist.. I've read from google that when you have a round face, it's best to play with shapes and angles that would hide a portion of your face and make an illusion of slimness. :-) she just took a look at them and told me she's got it. :/

I think she did a pretty good job on my new haircut.. It is my first time to try the fringed look..  I'm just not used to having hair on my face but I'm getting the hang of it. :-) my housemates say I look like a KPop artist, my mom said It made me look younger. but for me I just feel new! I look new! (',) I like it.

2. In Fitness and In Health 2014

I have written a post about this weeks ago and like i've said.. I really did gain a lot i really did gain a lot of weight and so I decided to sign up to the gym. :-)

I spent Christmas in the Philippines and brought back 2kg of holiday weight on top of my 16kg excess weight. I really want to get fit and so since I got here, I have been watching my diet and have been working out every other day.

I'm following a no carb high in fiber diet. I eat unlimited amounts of fruits and vegetables and a bit of lean white meat every once in a while for protein. I've strayed away from eating chips and sweets and have resorted to nuts and fruits whenever I crave for something crunchy or sweet.

As for my workout, My trainer has taught me a routine to help me boost my metabolism, I go to the gym with my friend who also has been guiding me through my strength training, teaching me how to use the machines and what is the proper posture and weight to carry. it's nice to workout with a partner, this way I don't look silly doing the routines along and the push is encouraging. :-)

From my last weigh in, I've already lost 2.7kg. That's my holiday weight and 0.7 kg. Not bad! (",)

3. Operation: Early Bird

I am not proud of this, but just to be honest.. If you've known me for some time now, you'd probably agree that I'm almost always annoyingly late to our meetings, dates or any scheduled appointments. Time Management is one of the things I struggle the most, and as an employee it is one of my weakest traits. Office hours starts at 9:00 am but I have been coming in so much later than that.

Again I'm telling you, I'm not proud of it but I have been complacent about this. I know.. Ok, I know. I know that it's a habit I need to break and really really work out on. and now I am. (",)

I started this week. I get up to shower at 6:45AM so I can finish at 7:00AM. this gives me enough time to prep myself up and prepare my packed lunch before I leave by 8:00AM. I reach the office 15-5 minutes early and this is in a relaxed pace. :-) I've been doing it for 3 days now.. and so far I'm liking it. No rushing, no feeling embarrassed to walk in on colleagues who are already in the middle of working, and I get to eat breakfast right before I start my day. :-)

(",) So far, so good. Yay! (",) and it's only been 15 days. There's a lot of other stuff that I need to work on but I'm in no rush.. I'm doing it slowly but surely this time! we'll get to all of it one day at a time. ;p
